Kathleen Kelly gave nearly $1,000 of her own money to hide that Palm Desert had illegal at-large voting, against Measure B. She opposed California Voting Rights Act (CVRA) law on the losing No on B campaign. Palm Desert voted Yes to follow the law and adopt city council districts. Furthermore, she donated just under $1,000, purposefully hiding the donation from the voters until after the election.

She told Palm Desert voters she would be neutral and respect our community. “It has been my goal from the beginning,” said Mayor Kathleen Kelly, “to respect the results of Measure B […]”

After Palm Desert passed Yes on B in 2022, she spoke against implementing it, asking that everything be delayed two more election cycles, until 60% or new construction is complete, or never, should development stall.

As an attorney, she knew that the old voting system was illegal. She has voted against voting rights since 2019 because she received personal gain from keeping things as they were.

As a UC Berkeley law graduate, she should have know better.
